Why do I need this medicine?
Fluocinolone, Hydroquinone and Tretinoin are combined in this medicine to treat moderate to severe melasma (a skin condition that causes brown or grey patches on the skin, mainly on the face).
How do I use this medicine?
Apply Fluocinolone + Hydroquinone + Tretinoin exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more often or over a larger area than instructed by your doctor.

To apply the cream, follow these steps:
  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Clean with a mild cleanser and pat dry affected area before application.
  3. Apply a thin layer of the cream gently to the affected area including about 1/2 inch of normal skin surrounding each affected area. Apply it at night, at least 30 minutes before bedtime. Rub gently until it disappears. Do not cover, wrap or bandage the area unless instructed by the doctor.
  4. Wash your hands after using.
  5. Replace the cap of the tube.
Avoid any contact of this medicine with your eyes, nose, lips, angles of the mouth, and broken or damaged skin. If accidental contact occurs, rinse it immediately with water.

Do not use with occlusive dressing unless instructed by the doctor.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose to make up for a missed dose.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

This medicine is not intended for the maintenance treatment of melasma.

Your skin treated with Fluocinolone + Hydroquinone + Tretinoin may become more sensitive to extreme heat and cold. A non-medicated moisturizer may be applied to the affected areas during the day.

For as long as you are using this medicine, you may need to have a test for your adrenal gland function to check your body’s response to the medicine. Your doctor will advise you about how often you need to have this test. Pregnancy tests may be done before treatment in women of childbearing age to know if it is suited for you to use.
What side effects could I experience?
Fluocinolone + Hydroquinone + Tretinoin may cause any of the following side effects: skin redness, peeling, itching, dryness, irritation, swelling, and burning sensation on the application site.

This medicine may also make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Apply sunscreen when going outdoors and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and UV lamps.

Some side effects may need immediate medical help. Alert your doctor quickly if you experience any of the following:
  • blue-grey darkening of the skin
  • signs of Cushing’s syndrome such as weight gain in the belly, moon face, swelling of ankles, severe headache
  • visual disturbances such as blurred vision
  • fruity-smelling breath, increased thirst and hunger, frequent urination
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are using any medicated skin products or medicines that can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.

Inform your doctor if you are taking birth control pills or other types of hormonal birth control. You may need to change to another type of birth control.

Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Limit your intake of vitamin A supplements. Avoid taking foods that are rich in vitamin A such as halibut fish oil and cod liver oil.
How should I store this medicine?
Keep the tube tightly closed.

Store in the refrigerator, between 2-8°C. Do not allow to freeze. If frozen, this medicine will become ineffective and should not be used.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
